Big Island Rogue Pickleball in Keanhou is hosting a fun-filled event for Maui relief this weekend. The event is called “24-4-23.” The fundraiser is a 24-player round-robin tournament where each participant will play 23 full games throughout the day.

The fundraising aspect involves all players gathering sponsors who will make a donation to the Maui charity of their choice. Big Island Rogue Pickleball’s website has links to five charities, which are all 501(c)(3) organizations. Rather than collecting donations, the fundraiser is asking sponsors to make their own donation to one of these charities or to another Maui charity of their choosing. One-hundred percent of all donations go directly to the organization, and is fully tax-deductible to each sponsor if it is one of the listed organizations — or another 501(c)(3) Maui relief organization.

The tournament will begin 8 a.m. Saturday at Holua Racquet and Paddle (78-7190 Kaleiopapa St., Kailua Kona). A support staff will be on-hand, and the tournament is free to watch.

Those interested in sponsoring a player can go to the “Maui Fire Relief” page of the organization’s website at https://www.bigislandroguepickleballhui.com/maui-fire-relief and scroll down to the Donations for Maui section — where users can select the link for the charity of their choice. After donating, please email bigislandRPH@gmail.com the amount of donation, the recipient organization and the player they would like to sponsor. The player list is on the same page of the website.
